It’s Auburn Wednesday Night Live….Tonight!!!

Come to Downtown Auburn tonight…..Wednesday, July 21st beginning at 6pm to 9pm for the final night of a 6-week family entertainig shopping experience.  Come out and enjoy an evening outdoors, on the streets of Downtown.  Vendors….food, special live music / entertainment, fun for the whole family.  Tonight the “theme” of the evening is “Living the Good Life in Auburn”.

Mayor Powers informed the group that we are getting 3 new buses for Auburn Transit. Jim Ruffalo was the guest speaker, not only do we get to read his column in the Journal, we got to visit with him in person and hear his views on the newspaper business.

Good news: Independence day was again great thanks to the City and Chamber, a reflection of the heart of Auburn. Lake Clementine is funded through September 2011. Steve Lease gave a presentation about the Active Job Seekers of Auburn. This is a support and networking organization for those in the job market. His is motto is “Don’t Wait”, if you are looking this just might be for you?

Out water comes from the Middle Fork Project and is in process of renewing that license and this will effect us all, watch this one!

Nine acres of land along the canyon is much safer now thanks to the 114 volunteers and donations from a varity of local businesses. According to Kevin Hanley, 790 yards of material was removed and only two cases of Poison Oak.
