Interest has been growing for full development of a marketing effort to promote the Auburn area. As currently practiced this is a disjointed effort with different groups sometimes working at cross purposes. Should the Chamber take the lead in organizing a motel/hotel association in the Auburn/Bowman area?

I have believed for some time now that the formaton of a motel/hotel associatiion in the immediate Auburn / Bowman area would be very helpful in promoting local tourism and provide marketing that is specifically for our community. I believe the Chamber is ideally positiioned to work with the local motel/hotel properties to establisih such an association, and through the “association” develop a cohesive marketing program for the greater Auburn community.

Let’s make a few phone calls and see what kind of interest exists within the “hotel/motel” community to form an association and who among them would like to take a lead position in it’s formation and organization.
