Placer County Water Agency is considering a river flow proposal for the Middle Fork American River Project Reliscensing. The proposal that is ultimately decided upon will result in conditions that govern the timing and duration of river flows and amount of power generation for 50 years following 2013 relicensing. The Auburn Chamber has been involved in the collaborative effort facilitated by PCWA since June of 2006. The Chambers stated interests address water supply, recreation, power generation, environmental/cultural values, and open cooperation with stakeholders. Word from Chamber representative is that so far the PCWA process is on track with the Chambers interests.

Should the Chamber take the lead in organizing a motel/hotel association in the Auburn/Bowman area?
Once folks start reporting on whats going on with the various local business associations and the PC Visitors Bureau, plus comments from Chamber members at large, the Eco Development and Gov Affairs Team should have a better sense of whats going on as well as how the membership feels about it. This Blog should be another good tool for the Chamber to stay connected with its membership. rich j.

The next post will be the executive summary by current President Ann Rivero and incoming President Bill Radkaovitz of the annual Strategic Planning Conference held last Friday at the Mercy Center.
